The E-Swift Lite brings together several practical features that make inflating your board genuinely easier than your regular manual pump. Whilst it’s not perfect (we’ll get to the noise shortly), these features work well together to deliver consistent results.
Intuitive Controls
Mounted directly on the carry handle are four simple buttons: power, pressure unit selector (PSI/Bar), plus, and minus. There’s a small display that shows your target pressure and real-time PSI during inflation. You don’t need an instruction manual to work this out — it’s immediately obvious what each button does.
Smart Auto Shut-Off
Set your desired PSI using the plus/minus buttons, start the pump, and walk away. Once it reaches your target pressure, the pump automatically shuts off. My Personal Experience with the Bluefin E-Swift Lite
New gear is always a great excuse for an adventure, so on this occasion, I used it to get out for a Sunday afternoon autumnal paddle on the river. I love out-of-season paddling — at the start of November, no one is about, so you get the entire river to yourself, now that most people have packed their boards away for the year.
Straight out of the box, the pump was extremely easy to use — no instruction manual needed. The design is compact with a carry-style handle on top that houses four buttons: power, pressure unit selector (PSI/Bar), plus, and minus. There’s also a small display at the end of the handle where you set your target PSI and watch it rise during inflation.
Build quality feels solid and durable. The pump has rubber feet, which are meant to reduce vibration and noise — I can’t say I noticed a big difference there because the pump is still loud, but they likely help a little.
The hose is roughly 1 metre long and screws onto the front of the pump securely. It comes with several adaptors, meaning you can inflate more than just paddleboards. The power cable is around 3 metres long and connects to a standard 12V car cigarette lighter socket, giving you plenty of freedom to position your board away from the car.
Inflation Performance
Inflating my Bluefin Cruise 10’8″ to 15 PSI took about 12 minutes. I’ll be honest — that’s not massively quicker than manual pumping. But here’s the thing: it means I can get on with other things whilst the pump works. I can attach the fins, sort out my paddle, get my Dri-Tide bag ready, or just take a breather and enjoy the surroundings.
The real benefit I noticed was actually the difference in board performance. When pumping manually, I’ll be honest, I tend to get bored and stop somewhere between 10–12 PSI. The electric pump took it to the full recommended 15 PSI without any effort on my part, and the board felt noticeably more rigid and stable on the water. The Noise
The main downside — and it’s a significant one for certain situations — is the noise level. I measured approximately 85 dB at the pump itself and around 80 dB from 5 metres away. To put that in context, that’s roughly as loud as a busy street or a vacuum cleaner. The anti-vibration rubber feet are meant to reduce sound, but I can’t say I noticed a huge difference there.
This matters most during those quiet sunrise or early morning sessions when everything is still. I love paddling at dawn when the water is calm and you’ve got the place to yourself, but at that time of day, I wouldn’t use this pump out of respect for sleeping locals (and the wildlife). The noise carries, and it feels intrusive in those peaceful moments.
For mid-morning to afternoon sessions, though? The noise is much less of an issue. There’s more ambient sound from traffic, other people, birds — it just blends in. And for the effort it saves me, I’m absolutely bringing this pump along every time outside of those dawn sessions.
