My Experience with Sealskinz Harling Waterproof All-Weather Gloves
To test the Sealskinz Harling all-weather waterproof gloves to their limits, I chose one of the wettest days in February so far to take them out on a dog walk through the wet and muddy woods.
Obviously, the first thing I wanted to do was test just how waterproof these gloves were, as they claim to be an all-weather waterproof glove.
So for the next hour, I spent a large majority of my walk dipping my gloved hands in and out of streams and puddles and, I’ve got to say, I was extremely impressed with the results. Water literally rolled off the back of these gloves as it would off a duck’s back.
Even though my hands were fully submerged numerous times, they remained bone dry and warm throughout my entire walk.
Some other notable features of these gloves are their soft fleece wipers found on the back of each thumb – ideal for wiping water from your face and the touchscreen compatibility of the thumb and index finger meaning you can still send a quick message or take a photo without the hassle of removing your gloves.
I’ll admit, I have pretty small hands for a man so I was wearing a pair of small gloves and found them to be a great fit – snug but not too snug.
The Harling gloves were both comfortable and warm to wear without my hands ever feeling clammy thanks to the breathable fabric, plus the elastic cuffs and velcro fastener meant the gloves secured well around my wrist.
Overall, I’ve been blown away by the quality of these Sealskinz gloves. Personally, I love any product that says it’s waterproof then actually turns out to be waterproof. I’ve been scorned too many times!
It’s safe to say that these gloves will be a piece of gear that I use regularly this winter whenever out of the trail or paddling on my SUP.
