There’s nothing like the glow of a campfire to make a wild camping spot feel cosy. But let’s face it, having a real fire isn’t always possible or practical. That’s where the Fire Maple Orange Gas Lantern comes in.

My Experience with Fire Maple Orange Gas Lantern
The Fire Maple Gas Lantern has quickly become a staple in my wild camping kit for those times when a traditional campfire isn’t on the cards. Its compact design and lightweight nature (just 140g) make it a no-brainer to throw into my pack, without weighing me down or taking up much space.
Set up is simple, the lantern screws onto a gas canister much like a screw top, and adjusting the flame is just a matter of twisting a valve—though a heads-up, a little twist goes a long way. The flame jumps to life with just a slight turn, so there’s no need to crank it to the max. Once lit, the glass shield can be adjusted to enclose the flame, casting a soft, candle-like glow around camp.
It’s this gentle light provides enough illumination for setting up camp or cooking after dark, without the need for standard camping lights.
While the lantern alone is pretty solid, opting for the set that includes the leather cover for the gas canister adds a touch of style and practicality. Not only does it look good, but it also offers an extra layer of insulation and protection to the canister.
Overall, I really rate the Fire Maple Gas Lantern as It’s easy to move around, quickly adjusts to change the light level, and adds a warm, inviting ambience to any campsite. Granted, if I’m heading out for a multi-day hike where every ounce counts, it might stay behind. But for those spontaneous overnight trips, it’s become an essential piece of my setup.
